Kimberly Cecere is the founder and principal of ON Point Communications, LLC, an independent consultancy in Tempe, Arizona, that provides corporate communications, public relations and marketing communications services. Established in 2002, ON Point serves corporate clients and small businesses in need of strategic communications and public relations programming, and PR agencies looking to augment their service offerings.

Mrs. Cecere is a professional communicator with 15 years’ experience. Her proven background in the communications field spans industries from hospitality and technology, to healthcare and financial services. Having held high-level positions in a public relations agency, as well as “in-house” Corporate Communications and Marketing Communications departments, Mrs. Cecere possesses a 360-degree view of client service. She also has expertise in a wide range of public relations and communications methodology—from PR program strategy, development and execution, to specialty services such as media relations, employee communications, collateral materials development, corporate and executive writing.

Mrs. Cecere’s career highlights include:

  • Director of Corporate Communications, AIG SunAmerica Securities, AIG Sentra Securities and AIG Spelman & Co.

    Mrs. Cecere led strategic communications for three broker-dealers comprising more than 3,000 financial services professionals nationwide and nearly 250 employees in Phoenix and San Diego. This included development of an integrated, print and electronic communications strategy that included executive correspondence, the creation of multiple specialty newsletters and online marketing campaigns. Mrs. Cecere served as the primary writer on behalf of the president and other members of the executive leadership team. Also at AIG, Mrs. Cecere oversaw the launch of a new AIG brand, developing guidelines for corporate usage and various branded materials for use by financial advisors nationwide.

  • Public Relations Manager, NeoPlanet Inc.

    Mrs. Cecere oversaw public relations and employee communications at this start-up software developer. Working closely with senior management, she developed and implemented a strategic communications program that included local and national, trade and business, print and online media relations; issues management; employee communications; investor and analyst communications; and community relations. In addition, Mrs. Cecere drafted and edited various marketing communications materials for print and electronic formats—including client case studies, white papers, company and product positioning—for use by NeoPlanet’s Marketing, Sales and Business Development departments.

  • Account Executive, HMA Public Relations.

    Mrs. Cecere managed multiple large accounts in the healthcare, legal and real estate fields, as well as non-profit organizations and government agencies. At HMA, she developed, executed and managed PR programs utilizing various tactics to achieve client objectives, including media relations, community relations, legislative affairs, issues management and event planning. Targeted media outreach resulted in coverage on local TV, radio stations and in publications; to national exposure on The David Letterman Show, Business Week and countless industry trade publications.


  • Member Publicist, Best Western International, Inc.

    Mrs. Cecere was the sole publicist for more than 2,100 hotels throughout North America, generating coverage in consumer and hospitality/travel trade media, and providing public relations counsel to hotel marketing representatives. She proactively publicized hotels by leveraging seasonal promotions, cooperative marketing campaigns and affinity partnerships. In addition, she wrote and edited various newsletters for corporate headquarters’ and hotel employees.


  • Mrs. Cecere has contributed to Desert Living (formerly CITY AZ), bizAZ and other magazines.

    She is the former editor of edit, the publication produced for the members of the
    International Association of Business Communicators.

  • Mrs. Cecere earned a dual Bachelor of Science degree in public relationsand journalism
    from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff.
